Fiddler on the Roof has become the worlds most acclaimed musical receiving accolades for productions in more than 30 countries since it premiered on Broadway over 35 years ago. Not only is it the winner of 9 Tony Awards, but it is the longest running Broadway musical of its time. Set in 1905 in Anatevka, a small Ukrainian Jewish village in Russia, the much loved character of Tevye, the milkman attempts to preserve his family’s traditions in the face of a changing world. META's December, 2002 production featured internationally renown actor/violinist Swil Kanim who recently starred in Sherman Alexie’s film, “The Business of Fancy Dancing”. |
