A Message from your Director! Thanks to everyone for this opportunity to participate with you in the arts. I had butterflies too as we worked our way through auditions. The Wiz is an intricate puzzle to put together so thank you for your patience. I apologize to those who did not get cast. It is a very bizarre process and I guarantee you should not take it personally if you don’t find your name on the list or find it in a place you weren’t expecting. This show’s “leads” are going to have to work extra hard to not be upstaged by the rest of the ensemble. The “chorus” roles are prominent and big and so fun. I will explain what they are as we go through the read-through Thursday so nobody dare think “I’m just a ___________.” Every role in this show is a hoot. The Wiz is a FUN show. Have you heard the music? Wow. And this cast is going BIG. Most everyone is in more than one (or two or three) roles so read the list very carefully. There are unassigned lines and vocals in some of the groups that could be yours too. I’m trying to get you all some real stage time and the opportunity to develop a couple of characters to exercise your theatrical chops. Hope you enjoy a challenge and teamwork because here we go!
